FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH Guitarist Says IVAN MOODY Wants To Play Entire 'F8' Album Live
December 11, 2019FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH will release its eighth album, "F8", on February 28 via Better Noise Music. Guitarist Zoltan Bathory told The Pulse Of Radio that singer Ivan Moody almost can't wait to start playing the new songs live. "Ivan is, 'I want to play this whole record now,'" Zoltan said. "And it's like, 'Well, hold out for a second,' you know. Everybody's coming to the show expecting songs that they love and want to hear. You can't drop 10, 12, 13, 14 brand new songs they never heard of in a live set. But I can tell you that Ivan is super excited to start to put as many of these as he can into the new set."
FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH recently announced the dates for a new spring North American tour. The trek kicks off on April 8 in Sunrise, Florida, winding down on May 20 in St. Paul, Minnesota. PAPA ROACH, I PREVAIL and ICE NINE KILLS will join FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH on the upcoming road trip.
"F8" is FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH's first album to be completed after Moody's very public struggle with substance abuse took him to rehab several times.
The track list for "F8" includes the first single, "Inside Out", as well as the title track, "Full Circle", "Living The Dream", "A Little Bit Off", "Bottom Of The Top", "Darkness Settles In", "This Is War", "Leave It All Behind" and four others, along with three bonus tracks.
Moody spoke about "Inside Out" with Metal Hammer magazine, saying: "It's about alcoholism. It's about my family leaving. It's about my bandmates. It's about looking at myself in the fucking face and saying, 'Dude, you're going to have to do this because nobody else is coming.'"
FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH's new disc was once again helmed by Kevin Churko, the Canadian record producer/engineer and songwriter who currently lives in Las Vegas, where he works out of his private studio, The Hideout Recording Studio.
The drums on the LP were laid down by Charlie "The Engine" Engen, who made his live debut with the group during its fall 2018 tour with BREAKING BENJAMIN. He stepped in for original drummer Jeremy Spencer, who left the band in December 2018 due to a back injury.
FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH kicked off a U.S. headlining tour last month with THREE DAYS GRACE, BAD WOLVES and FIRE FROM THE GODS that next stops on Wednesday night (December 11) in Madison, Wisconsin.
